MothersGold Shea Butter was born out of necessity and love in 2010 in Detroit, Michigan. Michael and Tamara Brown, a husband-and-wife team, were on a mission to find a safe and natural body moisturizer for their children, who struggled with eczema. Known as the family’s “natural chemist,” Michael began experimenting with blends of shea butter and essential oils, eventually creating a formula that worked wonders.
Tamara, along with their kids, started selling this handmade product on the streets of Detroit. As the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, they continued to grow their business, introducing MothersGold Shea Butter to a new community through pop-ups and free samples.
